Having assisted several domestic and international clients in their restructuring, insolvency and bankruptcy cases, our team has demonstrated solid experience in all aspects of such matters.
Forgó, Damjanovic & Partners’ restructuring and insolvency practice is led by Gábor Damjanovic, who has assisted a number of clients from a broad cross-section of industries in insolvency and restructuring cases, whilst the firm’s other partners do also handle insolvency and corporate restructuring issues on a regular basis. Our other senior partner, Zoltán Forgó, was the national rapporteur for Hungary for the 2010 Annual AIJA Conference, covering insolvency, bankruptcy, restructuring and distressed sales.

Examples from our
track record
In a mixed assignment involving both M&A and restructuring elements, we advised a client on the acquisition of a project in a distressed sale, continuing to advise them in negotiations with the financing bank and creditors of the project. Our assignments included advising on regulatory/restructuring matters, drafting and negotiating contracts and assisting the client in the corporate aspects thereof.
We conducted legal due diligence on a major business line for a client and advised on the restructuring thereof. The case was complex and involved significant competition law issues.
We advised a client on the closure of their Hungarian operations and represented them before the relevant authorities.
We represented a multinational client in liquidation proceedings against its former Hungarian wholesale distribution partner.
